  PROGRAM

At Teen Challenge, young people are able to learn a new way of life through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Appalachian Teen Challenge is a 12 to 14 month residential training school for young men 18 years and up. The program offers discipleship training, which includes Bible based topical studies, so that the students learn to function as Christians in society. It is through these Biblical principles and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that the young men are able to overcome their life controlling problems, such as alcohol and/or drug addiction, anger management, etc. These principles also help students strengthen their relationships with family and develop into emotionally balanced, socially adjusted, and spiritually alive individuals. The students are introduced to their loving and gracious personal Savior, Jesus!
The ministry is one of evangelism and outreach. By sharing their personal testimonies on street-witnessing teams, students give hope to others. Also, choir and evangelism teams visit churches to share the good news that Jesus Christ changes lives.

Outreach & Evangelism

Our Teen Challenge Choir enjoys sharing their personal testimonies and singing praises to Jesus!

Our Evangelism Team presents the Teen Challenge program to local churches and testifies of the changing power of Jesus!

Our Street Witnessing Teams are able to share with other lost persons how Jesus has given them hope.

If you would like our choir or evangelism team to visit your church or organization and share the delivering power of Jesus, you may call the Training Center office at (304) 384-9074 or 384-3307.

Ministry

Prayer and worship are valuable components of the program at Appalachian Teen Challenge.

"As a Chaplain of Bluefield Regional Medical Center, I have had the opportunity to interact with Appalachian Teen Challenge's Executive Director, Jim Nickels, and to provide pastoral care to Teen Challenge residents who were patients at the Medical Center.
"My experiences have affirmed the Christian orthodoxy of Teen Challenge's Biblical approach to the rehabilitation of persons with life-controlling problems."
